Landscape painting in Scotland has a heritage as rich and varied as the iconic rolling hills and rugged coastlines themselves. We are delighted at ScotlandArt to invite you to our latest exhibition, ‘Coast and Country’, showcasing the talents of four of the most celebrated and distinctive painters to be working in this tradition today.
Robert Kelsey, Sarah Carrington, Christopher Forsey and Allison Young have all, over the course of their highly successful careers, developed their own unique and evocative means of responding to the particular representative challenge which these locations provoke – the flickering of the heather-coated mountainsides beneath fickle Highland skies, or else the peculiar translucency of light, familiar to anyone who has looked out to the Western Isles, or East over the North Sea.
To celebrate the launch, our whisky aficionado, Aidan, will be selecting a number of fine single malts for our complimentary whisky tasting. Several of the artists will be present to answer questions about their work, including Robert Kelsey, immediate past President of the Glasgow Art Club, and Chris Forsey, RI.
RSVP by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 0141 221 4502 to reserve your place your place at the launch and whisky tasting between 5:30PM and 8PM on Friday 16th October.
